Data Warehouse Engineer (m/w/d)

Place of work: Fürth and/or remote work

What you can expect from us:

  • Established 3-tier data warehouse for a group of companies operating across Europe, based on Microsoft technology at its core
  • Requirement analysis, definition, development, test, roll-out and monitoring of ETL processes in the data warehouse
  • Design and implementation of ETL processes for data integration in the data warehouse
  • Design, optimisation and further development of the data warehouse regarding architecture and data organisation
  • Responsibility for data origin analysis and development of the logical data model as well as implementation in a physical design and corresponding business rules
  • Ensuring DWH operation and performance
  • Work environment: MS-SQL Server, SSIS, C#, BIML

What we want from you:

  • A successfully completed degree in the MINT field, preferably (business) computer science, or a comparable qualification and several years of professional experience in the field of data warehouse engineering
  • A successfully completed degree in the STEM field, preferably (business) informatics, or a comparable qualification as well as several years of professional experience in the field of data warehouse engineering.
  • Sound knowledge of relational and multidimensional databases, ideally with Microsoft technologies (SQL Server / Analysis Services)
  • SQL is your "mother tongue”
  • Basic software development skills. Ideally with Microsoft stack (C#, .net, SSIS, TFS etc.)
  • Experience in the areas of data mining and machine learning, knowledge of R, SPSS, Python and commercially available BI solutions is a bonus
  • Understanding of business contexts and a good basic understanding of the requirements of the specialist departments regarding KPIs relevant to management
  • High level of goal orientation and willingness to perform, abstract and analytical problem-solving ability and strong, empathetic communication skills
  • Very good written and spoken English
